I have always been a firm believer of knowledge sharing. I am at a stage in my professional journey where I am focussed on sharing my experiences and insights for the larger good. I live by my purpose of ‘inspiring individuals and transforming organisations’.
To succeed in life, passion is everything. A curious mind coupled with a passionate soul is a solid ground for success. In my professional journey, I’ve always been driven by the passion of innovatively solving the problems at hand. Personally, I have been a consistent learner, imbibing knowledge from the most fleeting conversations and the smallest of things around me.
For me, it’s been a journey of constant reinventing – from being an accountant by virtue of training, to becoming a management consultant, then moving on to becoming a Chief Marketing Officer, to now being a leadership coach and author...I’ve always kept learning and unlearning. Every experience you have is unique and the learning you gather at each juncture, will go with you far and wide.
As people and professionals, we carve our own journeys. But right mentoring at the right time can set you up for success. I was lucky to be guided by my managers and peers at the very beginning of my career. They instilled the right professional attitude and passion in me which continues to serve me even today.
On the personal front, I am always thankful to my wife and daughter for being my pillars of strength.
Your interests give you a new dimension of thinking that challenges you and gives you a fresh perspective of doing things. I have nurtured quite a few over the years, writing being one of them.
I have authored the book ‘Switch: Sales Transformation for Strategic Advantage’, which details strategies for transforming sales effectiveness and catering to customers’ best interest. The book has been well received and appreciated at several platforms. Motivated by my first book’s success, I have now begun work on my second book - compiling my experience of shaping leaders.
I am also an avid golfer and am actively working on building sustainable social enterprises.
I had a wonderful time learning, solving and growing as a professional while I was at PwC. It was inspiring to work under knowledgeable mentors whose passion and commitment still drives me to give my best.
Enjoy pushing your boundaries, think big and focus more on sharing than taking.
Our alum Kamlesh Kaltari was a part of our firm from 2007 to 2015.
In a candid conversation with our alumni team, Kamlesh shares his love for travel and how he wishes to inspire others to move out of their comfort zones and explore new territories.
In 13 years of my professional journey, I have been inspired by many leaders who’ve taught me the value of creating a positive learning environment and building trust with teammates and stakeholders.
As a professional, I promote a culture of open conversation and encourage my peers to freely contribute their thoughts and ideas towards our joint vision.
This is something we’d all agree with. The key to happiness lies in appreciating the opportunities you get and working on them with all your heart and soul. Excellence will follow on its own.
My professional journey has been a roller-coaster ride. There have been instances where people had preconceived notions about my ability to perform. But I always viewed these as opportunities to channelise my energy and let my work speak for itself. This attitude has brought me a lot of love and respect from my peers.
So, never stop believing in yourself.
Travel ignites a strong sense of purpose in me. I have been fortunate to be on trips with some exceptionally committed people who share the same passion for travel as me.
I’ve pushed myself out of my comfort zone, met interesting people and embraced new ways of experiencing life.
Through my first book ‘Tenu Main 'Leh' Javanga - Journey of 8 ordinary men’, I aim to inspire people to explore new places, reconnect with your near and dear ones, take up new hobbies and enjoy life to the fullest.
I have also been actively involved in guiding and planning travel itineraries, organising adventure activities and trips both in India and across the APAC region for extended families and friends for them to enjoy and experience the unexplored.
I owe my personal and professional success to the unwavering support of my parents Mr. Shamlal and Mrs. Kavita, wife Roshni and children Advika and Gurnek. My extended family too has stood by me and have guided and supported me always.
Working at PwC was one of the best phases of my life. It was a whole new world of professional experiences where I was allowed to learn, explore, fail, fall and get up again stronger. This place truly geared me up for professional success.
A big thank you!
